        The main idea  of the author of "Do Nations Express Themselves in Their Foods?" is that, people from different races and places show their rich culture and tradition and even some of their behaviors as well as their moral values on the food that they consume and eat.

         Supporting Details :
       a. Arab people takes so much effort in preparing such a simple dish only, and they take a longer time to consume it compare to the Americans.
      
       b. North Americans are always eating fast food or canned goods because they are focused on their ways of living and for them, " time is gold."
     
       c. Malaysian culinary recipes are of mixed origin because the country itself was colonized by other foreign  nations and these nations brought their food and culture to Malaysia.But. Malaysian folks serve also their local dishes.

1. How does food become  a center of power relations between master and slaves?
            
      The food become  a  center of power relations between master and slaves,  the master depends on the slaves because the latter prepare the  food for their master, while slaves depend on their masters on what they can eat.In short, the slaves cant choose on what food they want, their master choose it for them.

2.How is food associated with a mother?

       On the essay, the mother is associated with food because she prepares the food,nurses the babies of her white masters, and her body, treated as a sexual food for her master's sexual appetite.
